Beste began hand-crafting candles at the age of eight in her parent's basement by
pouring melted crayons into walnut shells (which, by the way, make lovely floating
candles). After developing as a pretty much normal kid in a small town in South Alabama, Shanda attended a liberal arts college where she studied the arts, writing and science. Her background in classical ballet planted the seed for her growing love for the arts and the ways, values and philosophy of the Renaissance. |

One holiday season in
Key West, her limited cash flow and creative passion inspired her to buy her first
candle mold with which she made Christmas gifts for friends and family. Soon one mold turned into 50, and her perfectionistic drive led her in search of better and better materials, fragrances, colors... all the while designing candles with a purpose - to lift your spirits, to put you in the mood for romance.. to go beyond your basic block of wax with a wick... to bring together pure, simple materials and create something magic! |

CANDLES Today the tradition continues as we constantly strive to create better designs featuring the finest materials available. We offer a full line of Aromatherapy Candles, which harness the powers of scent and color in combinations designed to enhance one's mood. Our Specialty Candles go a step further incorporating dried herbs and flowers in conjunction with colors and scents featured in ancient folklore. Our Specialty candles include a variety of designs from our Unity candle, Memorial candles, to our Holiday collection and our very popular Key West Sunset Candle. |
